Where? To the coolest Norwegian kids group ever, the Peer Gynt Norwegian Dancers. We are the junior group of the Synnøve-Nordkap, St. Paul Sons of Norway.
When? The second Saturday of each month, September through May. We meet at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 609 5th St. S., in Stillwater between Willard and Walnut Streets. Enter from the parking lot off 4th Street. 1:00-2:30.
Who? Boys and girls age 7, or nearly 7, to 14.
What? We learn some Norwegian language, music, folk dancing, craft & sports.
How? Your parents or grandparents need to be members of the St. Paul Sons of Norway. Cost for 1 member is $60 per year. Family cost is $95. If you are already a member of another Sons of Norway Lodge, you can transfer to St. Paul Sons of Norway or become an Associate member. The adult membership pays for Peer Gynt participation.
Favorite activities? Baking Norwegian cookies in December, fish toss & sledding in January, and performing at our lodge, along with Mindekirken and other Norwegian events.
Extra perks? If you have actively participated in Peer Gynt activities for a year or more, you would be eligible to apply for a Sons of Norway Foundation Scholarship, or a Skogfjorden Language Camp Scholarship.
